 HONORS COLLEGE-ENDY RESEARCH MENTORING EXPERIENCES FOR STUDENTS (HERMES)

The HERMES initiative is an exciting new collaboration between the Environmental Dynamics Program and the University of Arkansas Honors College.

HERMES is a near-peer mentoring program teaming undergraduates in the Honors College with ENDY doctoral students.  Honors undergraduates serve as research assistants to ENDY PhD candidates and are mentored in environmental research methods over a 1-year period.

The objectives of HERMES are

  1. to stimulate interest in environmental research among undergraduates;
  2. to 'jump start' undergraduate research leading to Honors theses in environmental fields;
  3. to provide doctoral candidates with experience mentoring student research;
  4. to provide doctoral candidates with capable and enthusiastic research assistants.

Follow developments on this page for news and updates of the HERMES initiative.
